How to create your own digital visiting card?
Creating and using paper visiting cards is bad for the environment, costs money and is a hassle to manage. It is also a lot of work if any changes are required. Creating a digital visiting card solves these problems. It's free once you've created it and can be shared over email, whatsapp, messenger, etc. In this playbook, you 'll learn how to create your own digital visiting card.
Navigate here and click on the Download Now button. Once you’ve installed LibreOffice, open LibreOffice Impress
Go to Slide Menu > Slide properties and enter the following details:
Add the following details by clicking on Insert Menu > Textbox. Once you’ve added all the 3 items below, place them in the following order and make them either left or center aligned
Name: Sherlock Holmes
Designation: Private Detective
Company Address: 221B Baker Street, London
Add the company logo by clicking on the Insert Menu > Image and selecting your company logo. Although all common image formats are supported, it is recommended to use the SVG format since it provides us the ability to resize it without loss of quality as well as change colors if required.
Once an image is inserted in the slide, move it to either the top left or right corner
Select the icons which you wish to display on your digital visiting card. The most common ones are for email, phone number, website, google maps location and social media profile icons such as linkedin, twitter, facebook, youtube and pinterest. These icons are already provided in the attached file. Simply copy and paste it in your slides. You can change their colors by selecting the icon and then changing the fill color from the top menu
If you want to include custom icons, please import the svg version of the icon into the slide by clicking on Insert Menu > Image. Once imported into the slide, right click on the imported SVG icon and click on Convert > To Curve. Now you can change the color or otherwise edit the icon as required
Once you’ve added the required icons, you need to link them to the relevant information
Email: Click on the envelope icon and click on the Insert Menu > Hyperlink. Select the protocol as Web and enter the following in the URL field
a. mailto: [email protected]
Phone: Click on the phone icon and click on the Insert Menu > Hyperlink. Select the protocol as Web and enter the following in the URL field
a. tel:+
b. Please ensure the left and right carets are not included and that there is no space in the telephone number
c. Ex. tel:+919876543210
Website: Click on the globe icon and click on the Insert Menu > Hyperlink. Select the protocol as Web and enter the company website in the URL field. Please take care to include the prefix https:// or http:// before your website url
a. Ex. https://www.example.com
Maps: To get the google maps link to a location, go to maps.google.com and enter the exact address you want. Once Google maps finds that address and drops a pin over it, click on Share and copy the link to your location. Click on the map pin icon and click on the Insert Menu > Hyperlink. Select the protocol as Web and enter the google maps link in the URL field.
LinkedIn: Click on the linkedin icon and click on the Insert Menu > Hyperlink. Select the protocol as Web and enter your linkedin profile link in the URL field
Facebook: Click on the facebook icon and click on the Insert Menu > Hyperlink. Select the protocol as Web and enter your facebook profile link in the URL field
Twitter: Click on the twitter icon and click on the Insert Menu > Hyperlink. Select the protocol as Web and enter your twitter profile link in the URL field
Youtube: Click on the youtube icon and click on the Insert Menu > Hyperlink. Select the protocol as Web and enter your youtube profile link in the URL field
Pinterest: Click on the pinterest icon and click on the Insert Menu > Hyperlink. Select the protocol as Web and enter your pinterest profile link in the URL field
You can add additional background graphics to make your digital visiting card more visually appealing. A lot of graphics are already provided on the file attached. If you need to import more, then create those custom graphics and import them on the slide as SVG which would allow you to convert them to a curve and then edit them further if required
